Horiba and Innov-X expand partnership
Horiba Ltd (Kyoto, Japan) has expanded its partnership with portable X-ray fluorescent (XRF) technology expert Innov-X Systems Inc (Woburn, MA), originally covering the MESA 6000 EDXRF (energy dispersive XRF) analyser, to include the expanded marketing of the X-50 and X-5000 fluid analysers from Innov-X via the Horiba distribution network. The target applications for this agreement are the analysis of the elemental content in petrochemical and hydrocarbon fluids. This extends the reach beyond Innov-X’ traditional markets, such as environmental, mining and mineral exploration, commented Suzanne Moller, business development manager of Innov-X.
The original agreement between the two partners included the OEM manufacture of the MESA 6000 EDXRF, resulting from an R&D collaboration between the two companies but sold by exclusively by Horiba, through Innov-X (see IN online 17/3/10). Earlier in July, Olympus acquired the assets of Innov-X to expand its position in the non-destructive testing (NDT) market (see IN online 9/7/10).
